Congratulations Ruth and David!

Ryan and I went back to Dublin the weekend before last to celebrate with our friends Ruth and David on their wedding day. The weather could not have been more perfect and Ruth was absolutely radiant. Sitting at the dinner table with some of Ruth’s family brought back so many fond memories of the time we spent together when we were in school and I’m so glad we could be there to share in such a special day. It was also great to catch up with Sean (being seduced in the picture below) and Melissa (the temptress) who are busy making wedding plans of their own.

It was the first wedding we’ve been to since our own and the first time we’ve been back to visit mum and dad as husband and wife. I still can’t help smiling every time I refer to myself as Ryan’s wife or to Ryan as my husband. Mum and dad celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary the same weekend and more than any other year I admire their commitment to each other and the energy and youth still at the very heart of their relationship.

Moving in

It only took 3,723 miles and about 3 and a half months but our stuff finally arrived, a few hours before Claire and James came to visit for the weekend.  Needless to say it was a packed house this weekend.  I’ve already realized that a.) we don’t really have that much stuff and b.) there are a good few things we can/need to get rid of.  We’ll definitely be sorting out as much as possible this week after what looks like another long week of work for both of us.

It was great to see Claire and James this weekend.  Homemade pizza, open-toed shoes, wedding talk, Teri-Aki and the flapping wing dance (clip to come) were a few of the highlights.
