Ryan and I went back to Dublin the weekend before last to celebrate with our friends Ruth and David on their wedding day. The weather could not have been more perfect and Ruth was absolutely radiant. Sitting at the dinner table with some of Ruth’s family brought back so many fond memories of the time we spent together when we were in school and I’m so glad we could be there to share in such a special day. It was also great to catch up with Sean (being seduced in the picture below) and Melissa (the temptress) who are busy making wedding plans of their own.

It was the first wedding we’ve been to since our own and the first time we’ve been back to visit mum and dad as husband and wife. I still can’t help smiling every time I refer to myself as Ryan’s wife or to Ryan as my husband. Mum and dad celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary the same weekend and more than any other year I admire their commitment to each other and the energy and youth still at the very heart of their relationship.

I know what you mean Aoife, I still laugh (on the inside!!) when I refer to andre w as my husband, or when i hear him introduce me as his wife……..the chuckles haven’t stopped and it’s a year and a half!!!

Sorry I missed you at lunch - will have to catch up soon Mrs Haney!

And long may the chuckles continue for both of us!

Was a pity you couldn’t come for lunch but let’s definitely catch up over Christmas. It was lovely to see Andrew and meet the rest of the group - feels like ages ago now, I’ve been so busy since we came back.

Sounds like work is pretty busy for you - hope it’s going well. Catching up at christmas would be great - I’m sure you’ll have a lot of demands on your time but would be great to have a few drinks to celebrate your newly married status!! Take care and keep in touch.
